A Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative, Dolphin brooch dating from the late 1st century. The wings are cylindrical and have two grooves on either side and writhen terminal knobs. The grooves and the decoration on the terminals does not extend to the back. There are buttresses on either side at the junction of the bow and wings. The gently curving bow tapers to a plain foot. Copper-alloy disc brooch. Circular, with a diameter of 39mm, with a slight circular projection at the centre with a central circular indent within it. Around this is a prominent concentric moulding (diameter: 19mm), and a further shallow concentric moulding midway between the first moulding and the edge. The edge is mostly missing. There is a single D-shaped pierced lug (8mm long) to take the spring. Much iron corrosion around the lug, but the pin is missing. The short catchplate is intact. Traces of gilding survive on the upper surface and traces of white metal coating on the reverse.

Incomplete, copper-alloy two-piece Colchester brooch. The spring is secured by passing the external chord and the axial bar through a lug with two perforations behind the head. The lug is flat and there is no crest extending on to the head. The sprung pin of eleven turns was broken and repaired in antiquity; the pin and three spring turns were replaced with the end of the spring attached under and over the external chord. Copper-alloy Aucissa brooch. The flat wings are incomplete and the hinged pin is missing. The strongly curved bow has a prominent median ridge and narrow ridges at either side. The median ridge has ropework decoration down its centre. The lower bow tapers gently to the very narrow foot. The catchplate is intact. Patchy pale green and red/brown patina. Length: 49mm and maximum width of bow is 12mm.

Incomplete, copper alloy Nauheim derivative brooch. The oval-sectioned bow tapers strongly to a very narrow pointed foot. The upper bow is decorated with three fine incised transverse lines, followed by a median longitudinal line of closely-set rectangular stamps, terminating in four incised transverse lines on the foot. The spring and pin are missing, but most of the catchplate is intact. The lower bow is heavily bent. Even, dark green patina. The length of the bent brooch is 37.5mm and the width of the bow is 1.5-4mm.

Incomplete, copper-alloy small square-headed brooch. Square headplate, with raised square moulding which is flattened on the surface, followed by a further square moulding and a solid square at the centre. There are a series of V-shaped engraved motifs between the moulding and the outer edge, although the edges on two of the sides are incomplete. Copper-alloy circular disc brooch. At the centre is a copper-alloy pellet surrounded by a six-pointed motif which has concave sides and a rounded terminal to each arm. The field surrounding the central motif and the plain outer border is infilled with mid-green enamel, much of which survives. The area within the motif and around the central pellet is infilled with what appears to be a slightly darker green enamel which is intact. Single lug to hold the sprung pin; the spring and axis bar remain, but the pin is missing.

A complete copper alloy umbonate plate brooch. Circular, very shallow conical dome with a with hollow concave reverse. There are four D-shaped projections placed equidistantly around the plate; one of these projections is looped and is larger than the other three. At the centre is a ring-and-dot motif and then there are two concentric borders each with fourteen triangular cells. Much enamel survives in these cells; most of which appears to be dark blue, although there are occasional red settings (only four of which can be positively identified). Copper-alloy T-shaped brooch; incomplete. The head is a right angles to the upper bow and has a flat top, with little trace of the missing wings. The slightly curving bow has a rectangular section and the front face is flat to the centre of the bow.
