An annular brooch of copper alloy or gold, of probable 19th or 20th century date. It comprises a larger circle formed from a single strand of twisted metal, with a smaller circle in the same manner placed on top. The two are joined on the right and left. On the reverse, he underlying larger annular element remains untwisted at the left so to form a flat rectangular platform, to which is attached a mount for a pin (now missing). On the right is a pin rest formed from a coil of wire appearing like a 'pig's tail', which is also attached to the larger annular element.

A silver brooch in the shape of a cross with expanding terminals. The front of the brooch is decorated with 11 ring and dot stamps and notches are visible on the outer edges of two terminals. On the back of the brooch is a large hinge and catchplate. The pin is missing. Non-destructive X-ray fluorescence analysis of the surface metal undertaken in the Department of Scientific Research at the British Museum indicated a silver content of approximately 91-93%, the rest being mostly copper. Its composition and appearance suggest that the brooch is likely to be relatively modern.
