A complete cast copper-alloy medieval brooch dating from the 14th century (c.AD 1300-1400).  The brooch is hexagonal with concave sides that flare out to six angular points, and is plano-convex in cross-section. It is decorated with three short grooves on each side, giving the appearance of  rectangular blocks. At the centre of one of the sides is a complete cut sheet copper alloy pin that is wrapped around one of the grooves, the pin gently tapers to a rounded point.
