This coin was originally attributed to Jovian, but the description given really only fits for Magnus Maximus. Only examination of the coin could provide a certain identification.

It results from the previous coin struck sticking to the reverse die and then providing a negative / incuse image on the next coin. Such pieces turn up from time to time. It is not possible to be certain whether this coin is a 383-8 Vota issue, or a 388-95 Victory issue.
