On one face of this example are vestigal traces of a pellets, while the other side appears to be blank. A cast lead token. The token is flat and circular, with chamfered edges. A twisted sprue extends from one side of the token. The obverse of the token depicts a grid design, formed of crossed line. Three diagonal lines cross over the grid. The reverse is blank. The token is in a good condition. The lead has gone a mid brownish-grey colour. Due to a lack of excavated examples these tokens can only be loosely dated from between circa 1400 – 1850 AD.

A large circular coin or token. The coin is slightly too large to be a Roman sestertius, with a diameter of 37.3 mm and does not seem thick enough (3.5 mm). However, it is not a milled coin and it is quite irregular, and is thus not one of the large coins of the milled coinage of the 18th or 19th centuries. It seems more likely that this is a token of some sort. Both obverse and reverse of the object are worn and indiscernible. A date is therefore very difficult to determine.

The token appears bifacial but one side (the reverse) being almost indescribable due to wear; the pattern is hard to decipher but could have gridded elements.
