A coin of the Roman Empire. A copper alloy barbarous radiate copying an uncertain emperor. Barbarous radiates date from 275AD to 285AD (Reece period 14). The mint is unknown. Although some details are visible on the both of the faces it is not possible to resolve them into a design. One face features a semi-circle which suggests that the design was not struck centrally on the flan. The coin is roughly oval in shape. It has a dark green patina. One side has two patches of brighter green corrosion. This coin has a diameter of 14.28mm and is 1.44mm thick. It weighs 1.02g.

A complete copper-alloy contemporary copy of a nummus of the House of Constantine, dating to c. 335-41 (Reece Period 17), [GLORIA EXERCITVS], Two soldiers and one standard. Prototype mint unclear. The legends are heavily blundered and the portrait is somewhat crude in execution, though in general the copying quality is reasonable. The piece is well preserved with a relatively even mid-green patina, but part of the reverse is slightly off-flan.

Copper alloy coin. possibly an As of an indeterminate 1st-century ruler, and if so, possibly an irregular or military issue, possibly Reece periods 2 to 4 . However, the light weight initially suggested this might be a large module Nummus, probably of Magnentius or Decentius (350-353), Reece period 18. The obverse legend has possibly been removed and the reverse smoothed; in the former case this could be through long wear, and in the latter, perhaps deliberately. Obverse description: Bare headed bust draped right. Reverse description: Smoothed. Cliff Reeves kindly examined th…
