An early medieval silver penny of Ludica of Mercia (825-7), East Anglian issue, moneyer: Eadgar, mint: Ipswich? (North 399; Naismith E26). Ref: North 1994: 97; Naismith 2011: plate 84 (cf. E26b). The coin is damaged with approximately 25% of the outer circle/inscription missing (from 8 - 11 o'clock on obverse) and some chips from the outer edge eslewhere.
