Post Medieval hammered silver coin. Possibly a Henry VIII 3rd coinage or an Edward VI first period groat, based on the angle of the crown on the obverse which would indicate that the bust is facing R. The shield also suggests its from the Tudor period but as the bust is facing or facing R it cannot be Elizabeth or Mary. The coin was minted at Southwark or London and has the rev legend as CIVI TAS LON DON. The initial mark is worn. Dates to either between 1543 and 1545 AD, or between 1547 to 1551 AD. The diameter is 21mm, and the weight is 0.72g.
