One ceramic vessel sherd with glaze. The item is a rim sherd of a stoneware tableware item. The exterior is a mid grey-brown. It has been hard fired and the interior is red with a grey core. There are no inclusions evident. A dark green-brown glaze has been applied to the rim and interior. Dated 1600s-1700s. Total weight: 18g.

Seven sherds (re-assembled) of an incomplete brown salt-glazed Wheel-thrown stoneware jug. The matrix is light buff with minimal inclusions. The item is decorated with a band of four raised curved ridges which run around the jug below the rim. This particular jug has been identified as an example of Nottingham Ware, a known 18th Century ceramic group. Dated 1700-1800. Total weight: 37g.

A complete stoneware gin flask. The impressed inscription on one side reads: SEELIES/Wine & Spirit Warehouse/Corner of Marlborough/& Tyler Streets/Near Regent Street. The other side reads SHAKESPEARE. The slightly splayed base is decorated with floral motifs and there are linked chains on the upper part, behind the lettering. The upper part is dipped in brown glaze.

Fragment of stoneware with decorative relief showing 'pie crust' border within which is a possible large petalled flower with an unknown design within. The fabric is an even light grey , the inner surface is creamy grey and ridges. The outer surface is a mid speckled brown. Stoneware has been in use from the middle ages but, given the condition of this fragment, it is probably post medieval. It weighs 23.47g.

Sherd from the neck of a salt glazed stoneware vessel, probably a jug, with part of a stylised face embossed on it. This sherd dates from the post-medieval period (1600-1750) and comes from a style of stoneware vessels known as Bellamine Jugs. The fabric is of a very hard fired stoneware with frequent small rounded and sub-angular quartz inclusions. The fabric colour is mid-purple grey colour.
