Incomplete cast copper alloy Polden Hill brooch of flat wing ends type. The brooch has semi-cylindrical wings in cross-section containing a spring of 13 turns, held in the centre by a small integral hook. The wing terminals are fully rounded and pierced. The face of the wings are decorated at either terminal with a shallow vertical groove. Romano-British flat disc brooch. The centre of the brooch is plain and surrounded by a plain band. This is surrounded by a circle of 18 pellets. A further plain band encloses the pellets. There are more pellets around the outer border. The catchplate on the reverse is in good condition but the pin is missing. There are traces of blue enamel decoration.

An incomplete cast copper alloy and enamelled disc brooch of Roman date (c. AD 80 – c. AD 250). Diameter: 18.3mm; thickness: 4.3mm. Weight: 1.91g. The brooch is circular in plan and would have had evenly spaced peripheral lugs. However, these are mainly absent due to damage and corrosion although the stubs of some survive. Roman copper alloy Headstud brooch, 31mm long, 15mm wide and 4mm thick. The brooch is in poor condition with a green patina and weighs 5.98grams. The brooch has a hinged pin sitting in circular sectioned wings. The loop in the centre is damaged, with just the base remaining. The rectangular sectioned bow is decorated with a circular stud, which is quite worn, and four small rectangular recesses running its length. The end is missing and there is no sign of a catchplate.

Cast copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth 2011, Part 3, Group 5.a3, flat wing ends). Rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings hold the spring support bar, the spring is still in place and is made of seven curls. A loop on the top of the head holds the external cord of the spring. The bow narrows to a point at the foot. Catch plate on the reverse is missing. Length 23mm, width 14mm, thickness 13mm. The wings are semi-clindrical and undecorated. The top of the bow is decorated with a plain rib and it has a dark green patina. There is a ridge running down both edges of the bow which starts below the wings and runs to the foot. There is a knob at the foot with a groove. The catchplate is complete and has a backward hook. The pin is missing.

The brooch consists of semi-circular wings which has a wide raised lip at each end. The spring and pin are missing. The bow sits on a rectangular protrusion and is sub-triangular in form. It is decorated with a series of five rounded bands which merge into each other near the foot. Each band is separated by a line on incised dots which runs the length of the bow. The reverse of the bow contains traces of the catchplate which was at least 20mm long.
