Roman copper alloy trumpet variant brooch, 38mm long 12mm wide and 3mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition with a brown patina and weighs 4.53 grams. The brooch is missing most of its upper loop, with just the base present. The bow is semi-circular in section and is plain except for the acanthus scroll decoration at its shoulder. most of the catchplate is intact which is about 20mm long, but the foot of the brooch is missing. The spring and pin are also mising but the semi-circular fittings that would have held the spring are still present.

Roman copper alloy umbonate disc brooch, 27mm long, 15mm wide and 11mm thick. The brooch is in poor condition, being squashed and incomplete, it has a green patina and weighs 2.82 grams. The brooch has a hinged pin, whose mechanism protrudes from the edge of the body. It has a semi-circular catchplate which sits on a triangular protrusion placed opposite the hinge. The brooch has a hole in its domed centre, but at least two lines of triangular depressions and traces of enamel can still be seen decorating its surface.

The catchplate is intact and is 24mm in length and 10mm wide. It has two perforations of differing sizes which match fig.156, 1459 in Hattatt's ancient brooches.

A fragment of a Roman brooch. Probably a Colchester type of the first century (AD 43 – AD 100). Length 37.2mm, width 3.8mm. Weight 2.63g. The fragment consists of the lower part of the bow and the catch-plate. A transverse break has occurred on the bow, about 8.0mm above the upper part of the catch-plate. This break is old and abraded. At the break the bow is D-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear. The width of the tapering bow at the break is 3.8mm and at the foot the width is 1.8mm.
