It is missing part of the rear hook, the end of one wing, the spring and axis bar, as well as most of the catchplate due to old breaks. The brooch has undecorated semi-cylindrical wings with flat circular ends. The ends are pierced with circular perforations to hold in place the now missing axis bar. Roman copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, Middle Severn Valley), cf. Mackreth 2011, 3.Manufacture had moved north to the middle Severn Valley. It is 30mm long, 29mm wide and 14mm thick. The brooch is in fair/poor condition with a green/brown patina and weighs 7.77grams. The brooch is missing its spring, pin and most of its catchplate. It has no sign of decoration, although it is missing its surface in places.

Roman copper alloy 'lion' bow brooch, 24mm long, 22mm wide and 9mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition with a green patina and weighs 4.31grams. The brooch consists of circular sectioned wings which contained a hinged pin. From this emerges a flat curved bow which has an incised border. In the centre is a sphinx like reclining lion with its rear at the top of the brooch and its head pointing down the bow. The lion is very simply carved with no obvious features. Just below the figure the brooch has broken.
