Medieval gilded silver annular brooch with surviving pin. The frame is circular, wedge-shaped in cross-section to give a flat inward-sloping surface on either face, and has a construction for the surviving pin. The pin has a groove set between two ridges on one face at the junction of loop and shaft; the shaft appears to have a stamped motif, perhaps a letter O, half way down on both faces. A Medieval annular brooch, and is formed of a twisted wire, which is decorated by a row of pellets within each twist. The frame is narrowed for a short section to form a pin constriction. The pin constriction is oval in section and is broken in the centre. The break is not recent and is possibly due to wear. The pin is missing. The brooch measures 20.2mm in diameter, 2.52mm thick and weighs 2.19g. The brooch is silver and has traces of gilding.
