An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman Wroxeter brooch. The wings/bow head is an inverted 'D' shape which has an integral plate protruding from the upper edge. The plate is off-set has an abraded upper edge which probably originally had a perforation. The reverse of the bow head is hollow and has an integral lug at either side, with a circular perforation. The lugs originally would have held an axis bar on which the spring was coiled or the pin was hinged, all these mechanisms are now missing.
