This fragment has a surviving length of 29.8mm and a maximum width of 11.3mm. It bears all of the decorative elements seen on cruciform brooches; a groove down the back of the bow, faceting and incised lines, the latter cut with a sharp instrument. It is likely, but not certain, that the brooch was shaped by casting before the decoration was added. On the underside of the bow is a narrow groove and a projection which probably represents the catch-plate. As both the foot and the head of the brooch are missing it is impossible to assign it to any group.
