An incomplete Roman copper-alloy initial T-Shaped brooch, dating to c. AD 50-150. The wings are cylindrical and decorated with incised lines at the ends. One wing is incomplete. These house a copper alloy axis bar to which the missing pin was attached. There is a notch between the wings at the rear to allow for the articulation of the hinged pin mechanism. The bow has a faceted hexagonal cross section and projects from the centre of the wings. An incomplete cast copper alloy T-shaped (initial) brooch with tapering bow. The wings are tubular and house an copper alloy axis bar for a hinged pin mechanism. The incomplete pin is still attached to the bar and has an expanded head to provide tensioning against the back of the brooch. The broken shaft of the pin has a rectangular cross section. The head of the bow extends from the upper surface of the wings. The sides of the head are stepped in and decorated with longitudinal grooves. Silver penny of Edward I which has been gilded and made into a brooch. A Class 1c penny of 1279. The reverse is gilded and the obverse has a hook piece soldered to it (following the line if the long cross on the reverse). The hook is made from a trapezoidal sectioned strip of silver. At one end it is bent over to form a loop (possibly for attachment) and at the other it is bent backwards to form a hook. The end of the hook tapers slightly before a break at the end. An incomplete copper alloy Nauheim-Derivative brooch. A one-piece brooch with an integral sprung pin mechanism. Part of the pin is missing. The leaf-shaped bow tapers to a pointed foot and is decorated with a double band of stamped rectangles along the mid line. The bow has a flat rectangular cross section. Behind the foot is the remnant of the hooked catchplate. At the back of the head, the spring has been drawn from the bow into the remaining three and a part coils with the chord passing below them.
