The bow head is rectangular in section and is angled at 90° which then leads to the bow. At the top of the bow head there is a small hook. The bow gradually tapers, but is incomplete. Decoration on the bow consists of a vertical groove which is interrupted by a high-relief arrowhead. The reverse of the bow still has the remains of the upper portion of the catchplate. The bow is slender with a semi-circular sectioned moulding half way along the bow. The bow foot is an expanded semi-circular sectioned shape. The remains of the catchplate suggest it was solid.
