The upper portion of a hinged bow brooch of Headstud type; very abraded. The pin, now lost, was originally held on a copper alloy bar in a closed cylindrical casing. There is a raised element at the head, recalling the hooks on sprung versions of the type; the top of the bow is apparently plain above the stud, which would have been enamelled. The lower part of the brooch is lost. The width of the brooch is 19mm and the width of the surviving upper part of the bow is 9.5mm.
