Copper alloy brooch, Nauheim derivative type with flat bow. Damaged pin, bow bent above catchplate. 4-coil spring with internal chord. Bow expands to 8.5mm wide at top, then tapers to a point at the foot. Decorated with a single line along each margin, which can be seen to be a series of short punch marks in places. The solid catchplate has a squared end in profile. Length 37mm (originally nearer 45mm). Type as Baldock nos. 15-22.

Copper alloy brooch fragment, crossbow type. Upper part only, missing pin and hinge bar, heavy corrosion with iron-like colouring but not magnetic. The crossarm is probably round in section with solid roughly spherical end knobs integral. The end knob is also solid and rounded but with a rib moulding at its base; it is also apparently cast with the bow and crossarm. The bow is flat backed and probably rounded rather than facetted at the front. Width 37mm, surviving length 21mm.
