A Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, West Midlands) brooch cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.j. Plate 48 dating to AD 80-120. Sprung type with a rearward facing hook. The pin is missing although the spring remains in the springcase due to corrosion. The springcase has capped ends. The ends of the wings have disc-shaped mouldings. The bow is decorated with horizontal grooves in the middle part. The foot consists of 2 circular mouldings.

Cast copper alloy sprung Polden Hill bow brooch with folded wing ends of the Eastern Group, dating from 1st century. The pin has broken off just after the spring. The short catchplate is complete. The 10 coil spring is held in place by a rearward facing hook. A pair of flanges is cast at the ends of the wings and closed round the axis bar. The wings are decorated at the ends with grooves which go all around them. The bow is decorated with a central raised line running the whole length. On either side is a groove. The bow narrows towards the foot which is plain.

Lozenge-shape with concave sides. Bifurcated lugs at top and bottom. At the centre was a small riveted boss surrounded by a circle of fine dots. A copper rivet that held the boss remains in-situ. The hinged pin is missing. Triangular catchplate present.

Earlier sprung type with semi-tubular wings and a single rearward claw. Median rib on bow and incised curving line on either side of the head and down either side of the bow converging on the median rib. The wing terminals are also defined by an incised. The catchplate is broken and the pin and spring are missing.

Anglo Saxon copper alloy small long brooch dating to the 6th century.
It is a square headed type and appears mostly free from decoration. There are four circular perforations, one in each corner of the head. One of these holes has broken through to the edge. The catchplate and some of the lug remain but the pin is missing. The bow is curved only at the top part close to the head.
The foot is spatulate shaped and has a horizontal line across the lower part. It is slightly broken at the bottom and so has an uneven edge.
