Copper-alloy Roman headstud brooch. Near complete, pin extinct, although coiled spring intact, pin lost recently, unusual type, compact, stout wings, near triangular chain loop, worn thin at right-hand side. Flared rectangular decorative panel decorated with mod relief S coil motif around which is recess for enamel. Enamel extinct. Circular knob below panel. Full, sturdy sub rectangular catchplate, stepped foot with sub circular knob on bottom. Even olive green patina
