A fragment of a copper alloy and enamel Dragonesque brooch. The foot and part of the body of the brooch remain. The body has five cells for enamel. Only two now contain blue enamel. The reverse is plain.

A copper alloy brooch. The bow is D shaped in section and expands at one end to form the head. The wings are flat plates with rounded ends. They are each decorated with two longitudinal raised ribs. A broken suspension loop extends from the head. At the other end of the bow are two worn beaded ribs. These border a circular plate. A very worn copper alloy trumpet brooch, dating to the first or second centuries AD. The bow is curved with a characteristic acanthus leaf moulding at the mid point of the bow. The foot is very worn and the catchplate is missing. The trumpet head is intact with a loop on the reverse to secure the spring mechanism. The spring and pin are missing. The brooch measures 55.84mm in length and at the head measures a maximum of 14.69mm in width. It weighs 6.8g.

An incomplete copper alloy trumpet brooch of Roman date (AD 75-175). The brooch is missing the curl of the catchplate and the majority of the wire pin due to old, abraded breaks. The object is composed of a concave head with a single centrally positioned integral lug through which an axis bar, broken at both ends, is fitted. A complete copper-alloy headstud brooch, dating to the early Romano-British period (c.AD70 - 125). A complete sterling silver brooch hallmark Birmingham 1942-3. The brooch bears the insignia of the 8th Kings Royal Irish Hussars but additionally has a clasp in the form of a riding crop. This addition and being sterling silver would suggest that this is a sweetheart brooch worn in memory of a soldier of the regiment fighting in World War II. The regiment was retitled as the 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars in 1921, and was transferred to the Royal Armoured Corps in 1939. An incomplete silver pin from an annular brooch dating to the Medieval period (AD 1200-1400). The object consists of a tapering, rectangular sectioned shaft with raised rectangular collar. The loop has been lost due to a break in antiquity. There is no evidence of any decorative pattern. Similar examples can be seen on the Portable Antiquities Database: Unique ID: LIN-C0ACB7, Unique ID: WILT-88FF73 and Unique ID: PAS-35FDE4.
