An incomplete gold dog brooch of uncertain date, possibly early Post-Medieval. This three dimensional brooch seems to have been hollow or at least the body was hollow. The dog is positioned left with the head turned forwards. One ear is missing however the ear nearest the tail survives in good condition. All four legs are missing and there is a break across the chest area that is now filled with mud. The curled tail survives. A copper alloy Nertomarus type Langton Down brooch dating to the first century AD. The head of the brooch has been flattened but originally comprised hollow semi-circular wings with a central cast motif of an inverted triangle. The triangle itself is decorated with three moulded dots. Either side of the triangle is a plain, diagonal decorative ridge. Where the head of the brooch meets the top of the bow, there is a transverse ridge. The bow itself is D shaped in section and tapers towards the foot, which is broken. Roman copper-alloy flat, enamelled disc brooch. Late 1st to mid 3rd century AD. Diameter 21.20mm, thickness 1.82mm. The plain border is 1.27mm wide. The central field contains six outer pellets joined and a single central pellet of 2.96mm diameter. Traces of a red material (possibly enamel) survive within the central/inner field. On the reverse is a single lug 5.91mm long, 4.43mm high and 1.22mm thick. A circular perforation of c.1.98mm diameter is present on the lug but this perforation is filled with mud and/or corrosion. An incomplete copper-alloy Colchestederivative brooch of Harlow type of 1st century date.
The wings consist of a hollow half-cylinder, the underside of which is angled upwards. At the centre of the head's underside is a double perforated lug, the lower one holding in place the spring's axis bar, the upper one containing the external chord. The spring consists of eight coils of copper-alloy wire and there is a protruding remnant of the pin. Roman copper alloy Colchester Derivative brooch of the 1st century. Only the wings and part of the bow remain. The object is in fair condition but has sustained damage to the wings and to the bow, which has an old break about half way along its length. The bow has some simple raised linear decoration, and the wings have raised diagonal decorative lines.
The object is 33mm long, 33mm wide, 18mm thick.

A copper alloy zoomorphic brooch dating to the second century AD. The brooch is in the form of a duck. The body is sub-oval in shape and has been divided into two sub-triangular cells representing wings. Each cell is filled with degraded red enamel. A rib runs centrally the length of the body and extends to the neck, head and beak of the bird. Remnants of knurled tinning/silvering are visible adhering to this rib. Roman copper alloy and silver crossbow brooch, 55mm long 21mm wide and 4mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition and weighs 15.52grams. The brooch has a curved rectangular sectioned bow which is plain. A large intact catchplate forms the foot. It has short sub circular wings with integral rounded terminals, which are enclosed by a raised vertical ridge. At the top of the bow is a raised circle on which sits a spherical knop. Behind this are the remains of an iron hinged pin. The object has traces of silvering all over its surface, as well as patches of corrosion.

late Iron Age to Early Roman (AD 20-70) Colchester one-piece bow brooch, 39mm long 8mm wide and 3mm thick. The brooch is in poor condition and weighs 1.89grams. The brooch has a curved circular sectioned bow which tapers to a point. It has small sub rectangular wings with the remains of a spring attachment in the centre. There is no spring or pin present.
A similar Colchester brooch is illustrated by Hattatt R. (2007), Fig. 155, no. 250.

Roman copper alloy brooch foot, 33mm long 7mm wide and 8mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition and weighs 2.07grams. The object consists of a catchplate attached to a bow which has a rounded foot and a surface made up of a series of sub circular protrusions. At the top is widens and forms a sub triangular plate with a central rib. The object is probably part of a Hod Hill style brooch.

A copper-alloy Colchester-derivative dolphin brooch dating to 43-60AD. The wings are undecorated although they are worn and corroded with the tips missing. The semi-circular curved wings are 15.67mm long and 5.10mm wide with a thickness of 1.46mm and curve to a height of 2.95mm. The sprung pin is missing. The bow narrows towards the foot, which has a hollow triangular piece below the bow that curves to one side at the bottom to form the catch plate. The bow is oval in section by the foot and the foot is not pronounced but stops neatly in line with the edge of the catch plate. Cast copper alloy Roman brooch pin possibly of penannular type. A wide (8.96mm tapering to 2.92mm) pin with a moulded knop at the narrow end. Its hook has broken off however so its interpretation is not definite. It has a very dark green patina with a small amount of light green corrosion product at the broken end. Weight 2.5g, length 29.95mm, thickness 1.3mm to 3.7mm.
