Copper alloy disc brooch. A large plain disc with the stub of a small integrally cast loop at its edge; the loop coincides with the position of long paired U-shaped lugs on the back which retained a hinged pin; the stub of a small catch plate lies at the opposite edge of the plate. The lack of rust stains – a diagnostic trait for a brooch fastened with an iron pin – could suggest a Roman date, as might the length of the lugs at the pin seat [as discussed in the PAS Guide to brooches], though the disc form is more usually regarded as Anglo-Saxon. Copper alloy brooch fragment. The lower part of a bow brooch with a concavo-convex mid-bow, with moulded borders or stops above and below, constricted lower bow with expanded square plate at its end. Most of a folded catch plate projects from behind the lower bow. Roman cast copper alloy bow brooch fragment, lower part of bow & foot only. The upper part of the bow is broken off just above a transverse groove. The remainder of the bow is straight and parallel sided, and decorated with a raised longitudinal ridge with a row of nine pellets to either side, all in high relief. A fragment of a cast copper alloy trumpet brooch, comprising the incomplete head and part of the bow, of early Roman date (c. AD 75-175). The lower bow, spring and pin are missing. The brooch's head is sub-circular in plan. The bow is curving with a debased acanthus moulding at the mid-point. The rest of the bow has broken off beside the acanthus moulding. Dimensions: length 30.37mm, width of head 8.7mm, width of acanthus moulding 9.08mm, thickness 11.91mm. Weight 7.63g.

A cast copper alloy T-shape brooch of early Roman date. The brooch measures 40.7mm in length, 22mm in width and weighs 9.6g. The cylindrical wings conceal the axis bar for the (missing) hinged pin. Both ends of the wings are damaged. On the crest of the bow is the stub of a loop. The bow projects forwards for c. 15mm, then the angle changes and becomes more vertical. An incomplete cast copper-alloy and enamelled zoomorphic Roman plate brooch in the form of a horse and rider. (c. AD 100 – c. AD 410). Length 26.0mm, width 23.0mm and 1.9mm thick. Weight 4.08g. Roman copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type), cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.l. pg. 74, Plate 48. It is 51mm long, 18mm wide and 11mm deep.
