Copper alloy brooch. Enamelled south -western trumpet derivative. Flared trumpet head with a loop at the back. Stub of a projection at the top which would have secured the chord of a sprung pin. The head is hollow. The bow and head are decorated with two panels of enamel recesses either side of a dorsal rib. The panels are mirror images of each other. The decoration consists of a yellow chevron, half hoop and triangle (top to bottom on each side) on a red background. The bow tapers to an "acanthus" knob. The brooch is broken at this point.

Copper alloy dolphin brooch. Short tubular wings which taper to flat ends. They are decorated with incised lines around circumference and the edge of the folded metal can be seen at the back. This has been decorated with a band of diagonal lines. Wings house axis bar. Pin is missing. There is a raised leaf shape at the head decorated with incised herringbone lines. One short strip wing remains. Flattened bow with four longitudinal grooves. Two either side of a central rib decorated with a rope pattern. Bow tapers gently to a pointed foot. Large catch plate at the back.

Copper alloy Polden Hill brooch. Semi-cylindrical wings housing spring mechanism. Chord held in place by a rectangular pierced lug at the head of the brooch. Axis bar for the spring passes through a lower piercing in the lug. The head and tapering bow are decorated with a raised triangular central rib from which the lug protrudes. The rid has a central groove with a band of lateral incised lines either side. The rib extends to about half the length of bow which tapers sharply to a foot knob. Bow is decorated with central longitudinal denticulated rib, either side of which is a narrow longitudinal recess containing traces of red enamel.

A large copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth 2011, Part 3, Group 4.a.-b.,flat wing ends type). Semi-cylindrical wings housing an iron axis bar for a sprung pin (not present). The ends of the wings are covered with sub-oval ill-fitting plates. At the head is a small moulded projection which would have held the chord of the pin mechanism, now broken. Either side of the steeply curving head are ovoid mouldings. Copper alloy brooch. T-shaped. Cylindrical wings with two incised lines at the ends. Bow is wide at the head, tapering to a very narrow strip from the mid point. It is decorated with four moulded diagonal ridges, two on each side tapering to a point where the bow narrows. Small foot-knob at the base with a small catchplate at the back with a circular piercing, The pin is hinged with an angular projection at the head acting as a stop to give it tension.

Fragment of copper alloy brooch. Wings, head, part of bow and hinged pin only. Flat topped tubular wings housing the copper alloy axis bar and decorated with two grooves around the ends. The copper alloy hinged pin is attached to the axis bar. The head is narrowed from the wings and has the remnants of a chain loop at the top. The head is incised with a saltire cross. Below this is a raised ovoid stud, recessed for enamel, placed longitudinally. The bow tapers from this point and is decorated with a recessed rectangular panel of lozenge chambers for enamel. No enamel surviving.
