A gold open-frame brooch, roughly circular in plan, with an intact pin and two opposing, empty, collets. The frame is of oval cross-section and has a constriction, around which the pin loop has been folded. A transverse ridge separates the loop from the pin shaft, the latter of which is of flat section and tapers to a point. The two centrally located collets flank this pin. Each collet, attached to a flattened area of the frame, is cylindrical, has a vertical seam and an upper edge that has been rolled inwards.
