Roman cast copper alloy plate brooch. It is lozenge shaped with two opposite corners extended into rectangular terminals. One terminal has slightly irregular edges and an almost straight, broken end. The other is slightly narrower with a rounded end. The round ended terminal may have zoomorphic decoration with a long triangular nose defined by incised grooves flanked by annulet eyes; however it is very corroded and this cannot be identified for certain. An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch. The pin from the spring and catch plate are missing. The brooch has a dark green patina. The brooch measures 20.6mm long, 18.8mm wide on the head and 5.4mm wide on the bow. It weighs 4.40 grams.

An fragment of a copper alloy Roman brooch, probably part of a Langton Down brooch, dating to the 1st century CE. Only part of the bow remains, with the distinctive vertical grooves. See Hattatt 2000, pg 306, no 770. The fragment measures 29.1mm long, 8.5mm wide on the bow. It is 1.1mm thick; 3.2mm thick with remains of the catch plate. It weighs 1.31 grams.
