Roman copper alloy bow brooch, 45mm long, 16mm wide and 12mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition and weighs 11.74grams. The brooch has solid plain circular sectioned wings and a sub circular tapering bow which is also plain except for a linear recess running its length.

An cinomplete Roman copper-alloy Colchester derivative brooch of Mackreths Nene Valley group, dating to c.AD 60 - 150. Mackreth 2011, pl. 58, no. 2397, a CD H 6. The wings and upper bow remain, the lower bow, catchplate and pin are missing. The enclosed tubular wings appear to have iron corrosion from the pin. Below sits the triangular upper bow, the front is decorated with a boarder of dots. The bow terminates in an old worn break. Length: 26.07 mm Width: 26.77 mm Weight: 4.66 g A more complete parallel for this brooch is recorded under NMS-0761F5
