A cast copper alloy trumpet brooch of Roman date. The bow head has no wings and in plan the bow head is a horizontal oval. The bow head has a number of transverse incisions above the bow below the lug, there is a small perforation on one of the incisions. The upper edge has a trace of a decorated integral lug, originally a fixed headloop. On the reverse of the bow head there are two vertical sub-oval integral lugs with a central perforation. A foot, the catchplate and part of the bow of a Roman copper alloy bow brooch. The bow is broadly rectangular in cross section. The foot has a single horizontal incised line at the tip. Just above is an inscribed 'A'. The bow tapers slightly before expanding towards the foot which has a flat base. The catchplate survives on the reverse of the foot, the catchplate is broadly triangular in plan and has a perforation in the centre.
The artefact is 21.05mm long, 9.1mm wide, 6.7mm thick and weighs 1.7 grams.

A foot, the catchplate of a Roman copper alloy probable bow brooch. The bow appears to be very narrow, there is a possibility that the bow has mostly been lost or that the catchplate was attached seperately. The catchplate is broadly triangular in plan and rectangular in cross section. The catchplate has a perforation in its centre.
The artefact is 17.85mm long, 8.3mm wide, 3.5mm thick and weighs 1.2 grams.

An incomplete cast copper alloy possible Colchester derivative (Polden Hill) brooch of Roman date (43-120AD). The brooch is incomplete, the head, wings and part of the bow survive. The foot, spring, the pin, bow and catch plate are missing. In plan, the brooch is almost T-shaped, and oval in cross section. The wings of the brooch appear to be undecorated and the sub circular wing caps are missing. The back of the brooch is plain and undecorated.The brooch is heavily corroded.
The brooch measures 28.1mm length, is 19.8mm width across wings and 11.15mm thick. It weighs 8.5 grams.
