A Medieval brooch with a circular frame decorated with four bosses and one lozenge. The bosses were originally stamped with circular punches which have lost their detail. The lozenge has an arrangement of circular stamps resembling a flower. A corresponding lozenge, which would have been positioned on the other side of the frame, is now lost. The pin is held in place by a recess cut into the frame and is decorated with a spherical collar stamped in the same way as the bosses. The brooch is silver gilt and dates from the late thirteenth or early fourteenth century.

A complete silver gilt annular brooch of medieval date. The frame has a plano-convex cross section with a flat reverse. The frame is elaborately decorated with two sets of paired beast heads, one flanking the pin constriction and one flanking the oval lobe which functions as the pin rest. A silver pin from a medieval brooch, probably of annular type. The pin is 27.6mm in length and bent. The shaft has a flattened and oval cross section and tapers to a rounded tip. There is a small collar at the loop which is decorated with punched annulets, although use wear has obscured these. The articulation loop has a flat cross section. The underside of the pin has a distinctive patch of corrosion running from the bend to the tip. This may relate to use, perhaps representing an area in regular prolonged contact with acidic organic surfaces such as skin or leather.
