A Roman plate brooch. The brooch is oval and has a central oval frame, now empty, but which probably contained a glass inlay. Most of the outer edge of the brooch is missing.On the back is a hinge with traces of an iron pin. Of the catchplate only a stub remains. there are no traces of either enamel of surface coating.

A Roman Hod Hill brooch with side lugs, one of which is missing. The bow is triangular with the short base at the bottom and from this the lugs project.There are two transverse ridges below the lugs. There are traces of an iron pin and possible traces of a white metal coating.

The brooch's terminals are of triangular form, each with three circular projections which may have held enamel and triangular cells containing the remains of red and blue enamel. A large late Roman crossbow brooch in two halves, found separately at different times, and complete save for the pin. The brooch has a complete D-section catchplate which is decorated with a series of notches along both edges. There are three large onion-shaped knobs, one on each end of the sidewings and one above the bow. The slot for the hinged pin survives.
