A Roman cast copper alloy Roman disc brooch. Large areas of the surface are missing although the remainder is well preserved. The brooch has a central recess for a missing glass setting. Around the setting are two concentric frames each of which is decorated with repeating S forms. The back of the brooch is surfaced with a white metal coat and the spring and pin were of iron. There are slight traces of gilding.

A Roman gilded circular plate brooch. The brooch is now missing its central glass setting which sat in the recess which is 16mm in diameter. Surrounding the recess is a frame of S-shaped punches. The back has a white metal coating and the pin is missing as well as the hinge.

An incomplete Roman cast copper alloy plate brooch; about one third is missing. The plate is circular and has a projecting dome at the centre of which is a rounded and deep setting for a missing stone (probably glass). At the upper edge is a lozengiform projection which conceals the hinged pin which survives on the reverse. One rounded side projection survives. The catchplate is missing.

A Roman cast copper alloy enamelled disc (sexfoil) brooch. The central six-point 'star' has lobed terminals and is infilled with white enamel; the outer field is infilled with blue enamel. Most of the enamel survives. The brooch probably had an iron pin. Only the stub of the catchplate remains.

The brooch is formed from two hollow-sided triangles arranged point to point; at the junction is a central block with transverse grooves. Each triangle has four rows of squares arranged into a triangle. On the back is a broken hinge and catchplate. The pin is missing. The brooch dates from cAD50-100.

A Roman copper alloy Colchester type brooch, 56.6mm in length, complete with with a 6 coil integral copper alloy spring and stump of pin with an external chord held under a forward facing hook.The bow has a rounded cross section and is undecorated. The catchplate is damaged but appears to have been of openwork design. Circa 1st century AD.
