A trumpet brooch, complete except for the pin and upper loop. The bow has a circular expansion with four projecting lobes and a central circular blue glass stud. The surface of the brooch has a white metal coating which is very well preserved. The iron spring has five twists.

A slightly worn cast copper-alloy Roman enamelled brooch of plate type dating to the c. 1st-2nd century AD. This brooch is incomplete as the pin is missing. The brooch is octafoil in plan view with eight rounded knops, one at the exterior edge of each petal, and is flat on the underside. A fragment of a copper alloy Roman Colchester derivative, hinged brooch, comprising a stump of the bow, traces of a headloop and the copper alloy hinged pin, which itself is 32.4mm in length and narrows from around 2.3 to 0.7mm thick. The head of the brooch has very narrow shoulders, 12.5mm wide, with a copper alloy hinge spindle. The brooch is decorated with a moulded ridge vertically down the bow and a pair of incised diagonal lines across the shoulders. Circa late 1st - 2nd Century AD.
