A complete, though rather worn, medieval gilded cast copper alloy brooch. The brooch is square with a raised collet in the centre of each side. Two collets are now empty but the remaining two each contains a small pink rounded transparent stone. At each corner of the brooch is a foliate spray. One of the sprays forms the seat of the surviving pin which has a collar and which is placed diagonally across the brooch. A fourteenth century date is likely.
