Roman copper alloy Hod Hill type brooch, 24mm long, 14mm wide and 3mm thick. The object is in fair condituion and weighs 2.96grams. The object is sub rectangular in form and section and consists of solid circular sectioned wings which hold a central hinged pin. The bow is rectangular in form and slightly curved with a central ridge decorated with two incised lines running its length. It is missing its base, pin and catchplate.

Roman copper alloy Aucissa variant brooch, 34mm long, 6mm wide and 2mm thick. The object is in fair condituion and weighs 3.20grams. The object is C shaped in form and sub rectangular in section. It has a flat bow which is curved into a C shape and terminates with a large circular sectioned catchplate with a spherical base. The bow is decorated with a central double ridge running its length. The brooch is missing its upper bow and pin.

A Roman copper-alloy T-shaped brooch, dating to AD 50 - 150. Part of the pin and lower bow are missing. The wings are thin and cylindrical, they house the spring pin which has nine springs, four on one side, five on the other. The ends of the wings are decorated on the front face with a short incised vertical line. The bow is tapering with a pointed oval cross section. Roman copper alloy thistle brooch, Length: 41 mm, width: 25 mm, thickness: 6 mm, weight: 8.66 g The brooch was found in two fragments which join. It has a circular cross sectioned, rectangular shaped hollow headplate which sits above a flat backplate. This has a circular upper half and a trapezoidal shpaed lower half. The reverse of this section houses the catchplate which is sub rectangular in form. The top part has traces of possible tinning/silvering on its surface, but the object appears to be misssing a front plate as there are no traces of decoration?

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy Colchester derivative, Polden Hill brooch, dating to AD 75 -150. The wings and most of the bow remain, the spring pin, lower bow and catchplate are missing. Late Iron Age - early Roman copper alloy Langton Down bow brooch, 19mm long, 15mm wide and 5mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition and weighs 1.48grams. It consists of part of a circular sectioned wing with the upper part of a rectangular shaped and curved bow. The bow is decorated with a series of vertical depressions running its length. The brooch is similar to examples in Hattatt, R. A visual catalogue of ancient brooches, page 306, fig 165 and is dated to the first century.
