Cast copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth Group 4, flat wing ends type), cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.l. Plate 48. Below this the sides expand down and outwards in a gentle curve creating a low cone with concave walls, there are three lines of engraved concentric rings at the base of the cone. Hollow tubular wings which hold the pin support bar, there is a slot in the centre of the wing at the reverse for the pin. A small knop stand on the top of the head, below which are two triangular opposing cells that form an angular hour-glass decoration, these cells would have held enamel. Pentagon shaped plate at the foot, the face is decorated with three sets of four incised lines, one set runs diagonally right to left the second set runs diagonally left to right and the last set runs horizontally across the top. Cast copper alloy trumpet brooch, length 31mm, width 22mm, thickness 18mm, weight 8.07g. Oval head with a concave rear and two rearward projecting loops on either side that would have held the strap bar, however these loops have been truncated. There would have been a decorative loop on the top of the head, but this has been truncated. The head narrows to a thin leg, which has been truncated at the top of the moulded knee all breaks are old. This example would date to the late 1st century to the 2nd century.

Probable Langton Down brooch length 14mm, width 13mm, thickness 7mm, weight 0.88g. Cylindrical spring cover that would have held the spring, the reverse and left wing is heavily truncated. The head narrows towards the leg, the leg is truncated just below the head resulting in the loss of the catch plate. That artefact is in a poor condition with corrosion stripping that surface leaving a pitted layer. This artefact dates to the first half of the first century AD.

Cast copper alloy Roman disc brooch diameter 21mm, thickness 5mm, weight 2.95g. The brooch is circular, flat and has an elaborate decoration on the front. There are six circles evenly spaced around the brooch, each joined by a inwardly curved line. The field outside of the line is filled with dark blue enamel. The field inside the curved line is filled with red enamel. In the centre of the brooch is a circle of copper alloy. There is a catchplate on the reverse and a panel where two lugs would have been soldered into the reverse. This artefacts dates to the 2nd century AD.
