An incomplete gold dog brooch of uncertain date, possibly early Post-Medieval. This three dimensional brooch seems to have been hollow or at least the body was hollow. The dog is positioned left with the head turned forwards. One ear is missing however the ear nearest the tail survives in good condition. All four legs are missing and there is a break across the chest area that is now filled with mud. The curled tail survives. An incomplete gold disc, possibly a disc brooch or mount. This fragment weighs 3.33g but includes the weight of some adhering mud. No full diameter survives, however the radius measures 17.4mm which would suggest a diameter of 34.8mm if this was indeed a circular artefact. The edge is serrated, each projection having a width of c.1.6mm, some segments seem to be missing and others reduced in length or bent over suggesting partial damage to the edge. A copper alloy Roman Colchester two piece brooch dating to the late first century AD. The wings are plain, rectangular in plan and semi-circular in section. The brooch possesses a D section tapering bow. The bow has a central longitudinal knurled rib which is very prominent towards the head but disappears towards the foot. The foot is marked out by three horizontal grooves and terminates in a small forward facing foot knob. The catchplate is triangular with a semi-circular perforation. The brooch measures ??mm in length and a maximum of ??mm in width.

A copper alloy Nertomarus type Langton Down brooch dating to the first century AD. The head of the brooch has been flattened but originally comprised hollow semi-circular wings with a central cast motif of an inverted triangle. The triangle itself is decorated with three moulded dots. Either side of the triangle is a plain, diagonal decorative ridge. The head possesses two flat semi-circular wings behind which the spring mechanism is concealed. Only a small portion of the spring coils remains; a corroded overhead chord is secured with an overhead hook. The head extends to a hemispherical section bow which is broken. A copper alloy disc brooch dating to the second century AD. The brooch comprises a flat circular plate which has been divided into three cells, two outer ring shaped cells and an inner circular cell. There are remnants of degraded enamel in the ring shaped cells. It is green in the outer one and red in the inner one. On the underside of the plate are the remains of a catchplate and a semi-circular perforated pin lug with remnants of a corroded pin attached. The brooch has a diameter of 30mm.

Roman copper-alloy flat, enamelled disc brooch. Late 1st to mid 3rd century AD. Diameter 21.20mm, thickness 1.82mm. The plain border is 1.27mm wide. The central field contains six outer pellets joined and a single central pellet of 2.96mm diameter. Traces of a red material (possibly enamel) survive within the central/inner field. On the reverse is a single lug 5.91mm long, 4.43mm high and 1.22mm thick. A circular perforation of c.1.98mm diameter is present on the lug but this perforation is filled with mud and/or corrosion. A copper alloy Hod Hill type brooch dating to the first century AD. A small portion of the rolled over headplate with pin recess extends to a rectangular bow with vertical ribbed mouldings. From the bow there extend two tapering wings which are also vertically ribbed. The leg, which is also horizontally ribbed, tapers slightly and ends in a rounded foot. The catchplate is trapezoidal and runs the whole length of the leg. The brooch measures 41mm in length, 26mm in width.

A copper alloy disc brooch dating to the second century AD. The brooch comprises a flat, circular plate, the upper surface of which is separated into ring shaped cells by a series of concentric ribs. A degraded substance, probably enamel is visible in these cells. On the underside of the plate is a small rectangular catchplate and semi-circular pin lug. The pin lug is surrounded by iron corrosion products. The brooch measures 36mm in diameter and 10mm in thickness at the catchplate end.

A Roman silvered copper alloy lozenge shaped plate brooch. The object has a divided knop at the top and bottom of the object and a large central roundel which is pierced by a central hole. The roundel has circles of decoration this central hole consisting of a twisted cable design. The central roundel would probably originally have been decorated with enamel but this is now missing. A Roman copper alloy disc brooch. The object consists of a disc of copper alloy with a pin lug and catchplate (missing catchplate turnover) on the reverse. The front of the brooch is decorated with a six pointed star that has circles at its points. The middle of the star is hollow and contains another circle of the same size. The areas outside and around this decoration are filled in with red enamel, much of which is still present although a patch is missing from around one point of the star. Diameter: 20.43mm; thickness: 1.35mm; weight: 3.08g.
