The bow and head of a Hod Hill variant brooch. The bow exhibits the remains of white metal coating and is marginally decorated with knurling. The head has been rolled over with a slot cut for the pin. The pin is missing, but the axis bar was clearly of iron, as there are iron corrosion products surrounding the head. Although the brooch does not have the classic wider bow of the Hod Hill, its head and white metal coating suggest it is a variant.
