A copper-alloy foot from a Roman hinge headed brooch, most likely to have been an equal ended enamelled type originally. Similar to the foot on a complete example from Hacheston (Plouviez et al 2004, 104-5, fig 68, no 190). The temrinal is zoomorphic it has ring and dot eyes, a projecting snout and incised line scales on the neck. The catchplate on the bakc face is incomplete. This fragment measures 18.78mm in length and 9.13mm in width.

a copper alloy Roman bow brooch fragment. It is part of a Colchester derivative with double-pierced lug type. The upper bow with hook, shallow semi-cylindrical wings and spring of six coils are all that remain. The bow has a raised rib which continues into the hook, and a single longitudinal line of decoration. The fragment measures 12.61mm in surviving length, and 15.24mm across the wings. It weighs 3.08g. A mid-first to second century date is suggested from examples from Hatcheston, 2004.

a copper alloy Roman bow brooch of Hod Hill type. It has been bent over so that the head touches the catchplate. The head terminal is incomplete and the axis bar and pin are missing. There is longitudinal moulding on the bow, and transverse moulding below this, at the junction with the leg. There are side-knobs also with moulding. The leg is plain and triangular, with the foot missing. There are traces of white metal coating on the leg. A worn and incomplete copper-alloy Roman plate brooch, probably 2nd century in date similar to Hattatt 1989, 345, fig 204, no 1419. Cast cu-alloy brooch with moulded decoration dating to the Early Roman period, c. AD45-60. Only the rear part of the bow and part of the spring case remain. The bow is hardly decorated but the wings are moulded with vertical flutes between ribs in a sort of inverted astragal arrangement, the ribs being finely grooved.

Copper alloy enamelled horse and rider brooch. Missing pin, damaged catchplate, worn horse head, tail and legs, some corrosion, missing some enamel. Pin was sprung on a single lug, traces of corroded iron can be seen within this. Plate 1.48mm thick. Standard horse and rider type outline with some detail on horse head - possibly notched mane. Lower bow and foot of silver bow brooch, either a P-shaped or a Crossbow. The undecorated foot tapers gently to the terminal, and the catchplate extends the full length of its rear. There is a slight concavity at the junction with the bow. This is of trapezoidal section with the narrowest face forwards, and tapers very gently towards the break. Again no decoration is present. Date: 3rd century AD. Dimensions: Surviving length 26mm. Max. width 4mm. Weighing 2.11g.

Mackreth) stump of rearward-hook, damaged semi-circular wings both with remains of a knurled rib between two plain ribs, containing fragments of solder and spring, short D-sectioned bow bifurcates and continues as a moulding along the upper edge of the a trapezoidal foot with fine engraved bordering line.
