A complete cast copper-alloy pennanular brooch of probable Roman date. It has a pennanular frame that is oval sectioned, undecorated and flattens towards the terminals. The terminal themselves are coiled/spiralled and set at right angles to the plane of the frame. A separately cast copper-alloy pin hinges around the frame and is flat, triangular in form, tapering towards a sharp point. The front face has a central hollow, still containing traces of red enamel. The back face is flat and has traces of the adhesive that would have connected it to the now missing brooch.
This brooch measures 13.92mm in length, 11.24mm in width, 3.59mm in thickness, 2.10g in weight.
There are similar examples recorded by Hattatt (Hattatt, 1987, p. 257, 1207-1208).

It is flat and the front face decorated with nine evenly spaced ring and dot motifs. The back face is undecorated and has a single pin lug with corroded iron adhering to its base, presumably the remains of an iron pin, and a large catchplate which has two parallel vertical grooves on one face.

A worn copper-alloy Roman plate brooch of flat enamelled disc type, see similar from Hacheston (Plouviez et al 2004, 102-3, no 171). The brooch is incomplete due to old breaks now worn. It is circular in shape and measures 20.78mm in diameter. The front face has a five lobed motif which surrounds a central circle of metal, there is red enamel within the motif but no enamel surives in the outer area. On the back face there is a single pin lug with a fragment of iron within it from the missing pin, opposite this is a catchplate.

Cast cu-alloy Roman knee brooch dating from the late second century (Continental) and earlier third century (British imitations). This one seems to be one of the earlier original Continental ones. It is complete with spring and pin and still in working order. It is a small brooch with a large spring mechanism and spring which are covered with the triangular head plate. A fragment of a copper alloy Roman trumpet brooch. Only the head of the brooch survives. This is trumpet shaped with a concave reverse, which has a lug in the centre holding an in situ copper alloy pin spring in place. The rest of the pin is missing. There is evidence of a break in the centre of the upper edge of the head where a loop would have presumably extended originally. The outer face of the head is undecorated and tapers rapidly to a very narrow upper bow. The surface of the metal is heavily corroded and the breaks are well worn.

A fragment originating from a bow brooch of probable Colchester Derivative type, dating c. AD 43-100. Only the catchplate and lower bow survive, the bow being 'D' shaped in section and plain-truncating at its upper edge in a neat break. The catchplate is triangular in form, with a rolled back edge and two small cut outs at its mid-point (one triangular, one sub-circular). Preserved in fair condition with a patchy greenish patina, it survives to a length of 22.62mm, 1.91mm thick at the truncated end of the bow, and weighs 1.49g.

The bow is 'D' shaped in section with a prominent longitudinal moulded ridge, the foot plain and the catchplate triangular with a rolled back edge that originally would have accomodated the pin. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch of the Aesica Type, dating to AD 1-100. The head consists of two slightly concave flat wings, which have D-shaped end-caps; one is broken and the other is blocked possibly by a fragment of the axis-bar. From the upper edge of the head protrudes a D-shaped lug, which still retains a fragment of the spring-chord. The front face of the the wings have a pair of transverse grooves close to the outer end. An incomplete cast copper-alloy bow brooch dating to the Roman period, c. 43-100 AD. This example is of Colchester Derivative rearhook type, the lower bow, pin and part of the head missing in old breaks. It demonstrates a semi-circular sectioned winged head (the wing-tips missing) with a rearward facing hook projecting from its midpoint on the reverse face of the object. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch of the Colchester Derivative Hinged Type, dating to AD 43-120. It has a cylindrical head, which houses an iron axis-bar; the head has a central slot on its back, where it is visible a fragment of the pin loop, which is blocked by iron corrosion. The surviving upper bow is slightly D-shaped in cross-section and tapers towards the break. The brooch is very worn.
