An incomplete and corroded Roman enamelled plate brooch. It is flat, circular in shape and is missing much of the exterior edges, part of the catchplate, the spring and pin due to old breaks. The front face of the plate has enamelled decoration. This comprises a central copper alloy pellet surrounded by a six-lobed decorative motif contained within a narrow border that traces the outer edge of the plate. The recessed fields between the central motif and the exterior edge are filled with a vivid dark blue enamel, whilst there are traces of a pale green enamel in the corresponding fields…

A fragment from an incomplete Roman brooch with enamelled decoration. Only the foot and part of the catchplate of the brooch survive intact, the remainder missing due to old breaks. The foot plate is flat, sub-triangular in shape and has extensive corrosion on the exterior edges. The front face is decorated with a central enamelled panel in the form of an arrow pointing towards the base of the brooch and filled with a dark blue enamel. A copper alloy Roman disc brooch fragment. About half of a circular brooch survives, with abraded edges and pitted surfaces. There is a perforation at the centre 2.8mm in diameter, surrounded by an incised line 8.15mm in diameter. There may be further small circles decorating the surface concentrically, but these are hard to distinguish from the wear marks. On the reverse is part of the catchplate mechanism for fastening a pin (missing). The brooch measures 28.32mm in diameter, 1.57mm in thickness and weighs 4.04g. Disc brooches date to the second century AD.

A copper alloy Roman bow brooch, Colchester derivative with double- pierced lug. It consists of the bow, wings and spring coil but the pin is missing. The wings are short and semi-circular, with a spring chord held by the upper hole in the lug, and the axis bar below with a coil of eight springs. The bow is D-shaped with a central rib, very worn but with traces of wavy line decoration along it. A copper alloy Roman oval plate brooch with intaglio missing. The brooch is flat with an enamelled border surrounding the central oval setting. The border comprises twelve undivided segments alternating blue and red, with three cells missing their red enamel and a white paste adhering within them. Part of the catchplate remains on the reverse, but the pin is missing. The brooch measures 27.66mm in length and 25.53mm in width. It weighs 6.74g.

The upper surface has paired bronze dividers crossing at right angles and forming arms of a cross with a central circular cell. Within the arms, and in the surrounding field, are traces of reddish-brown enamel. On the reverse, part of the catchplate or pin loop remains close to one edge. The opposite side is missing. The fragment measures 37.92mm in surviving length, 5.63mm in width, 4.1mm in thickness and weighs 3.47g.
