This is a cast, copper alloy object that is probably Roman and may be a fragment of a brooch. The object is discoid but has a projection to one side, from which it has clearly broken off a larger item. The break is worn. On one side the disc is dished with a raised centre; it is possible that there was once enamel in the channel surrounding this. The projection also looks decorative and may also have been enamelled. The other side of the object is flat, with a circular feature in the centre of the disc that may evidence of a fixing for a pin or lug. The disc is 10mm diameter.
