An incomplete Roman copper alloy Developed T-shaped brooch, from the middle of the 1st century to the middle of the 2nd century. The brooch is almost complete missing only the hinged pin. It has solid cast wings, each with two parallel and transverse incised lines, and the chain loop perforation is not drilled. The bow is solid and the head is sub rectangular being divided into two and framed by a raised rib. Roman copper alloy plate brooch of Umbonate type and of 2nd century AD date The brooch is damaged and torn but is near-complete, missing some of the periphery and the pin (with a surviving length of 41.1mm, a depth of 10.2mm and a weight of 7.7g). The missing pin was hinged between twin lugs, positioned beneath the damaged chain-loop. The remnants of the pin and axis bar suggest they were made of iron. A complete and well preserved copper-alloy umbonate brooch of Roman date (c. 2nd/3rd century). The brooch retains its pin and demonstrates a consistent brownish green patina. The body of the brooch is convex in section and domes outwards, leaving a convacity in which the pin sits.
