Eight peripheral lugs, some now missing. Larger lug at bottom of brooch and trace of chain loop at top. The central boss has cinquefoil pattern of cells which would have originally held enamel - none of which remains. Flat border decorated with interlocking sub-triangular cells which also would have contained enamel. Interspaces between cells and between central boss and border was probably also enamelled. .Hinge and catch on reverse, pin missing.

P-shaped double divided bow brooch. The semi-cylindrical head contains spring with approximately ten turns, pin missing. Moulded square ridge runs along top of head. The double bows are triangular in section. The crossbar at junction between bow and leg is moulded into a hollow. The leg has a has an v-shaped moulding just below the junction and is a D-shaped profile above this and the rest of the leg below having a slight v-shaped profile on the front. Three-dimensional, hollow bodied brooch in form of a sitting hen with large eye (worn), upstanding comb. Wings folded backwards. Body decorated with short incised lines to represent plumage. Tail is a hooked fin with groove running down its back edge. Uncertain as to pin arrangement, lacks usual lug for hinged pin and catchplate. Two small appendages on either side of the base of the body towards the head-end may have been associated with the catch mechanism in some way. Shows slight overall wear but is generally in very good condition.

Hod Hill type brooch with lateral knobs. Rolled hinge with axis bar and fragment of pin present. Transverse moulding of wavy-line on panel above wide bow. The wide, tapering bow has a pair of knobs projecting laterally from the top. The bow has a central wavy-line panel and double ridges at either edge. Reversed S, bridge between snout of head and body, 'ears' decorated with red enamel, empty cells form the 'eyes' which were probably once filled with enamel. The body is decorated with a central rectangular cell infilled with orange enamel with a triangular cell infilled with blue enamel to either side, four further cells infilled with red enamel decorated the rest of the body. The pin is missing.

A broken silver-mount in the form of an eagle, with hollow body and solid head. There are reamins of black (niello) inlay on the body and head and traces of mercury gilding on the head and neck. The brid's tail and most of one outspread wing are broken away.
X-ray flourescence analysis conducted by the British Museum's Scientific Research section indicated a surface composition of 90 per cent.

An almost complete copper alloy Colchester derivative, rearhook with fantail brooch dating to the eatrly Roman period. The wings are tubular and hollow, the spring and pin missing. The bow rises up and arches out from the wings before expanding in width towards the foot. Each side of the bow is decorated with a raised vertical rib running from the head to the foot of the object. The ridges are notched. At the rear of the object, the catchplate is almost complete and measures 12mm in length.
The object has a smooth dark green patina and is slightly pitted in places.

A cast copper alloy knee brooch dating to the Roman period. The brooch is sprung, the tubular wings are sub-rectangular in plan. At the top of the head is the remains of a broken chain loop. The bow expands outwards and downwards from the wings before tapering towards the foot which is missing due to a modern break. The bow curves steeply in profile and is decorated with traces of a central vertical strip, which is silver oxide in some cases. The spring, pin and catchplate are missing. The object has a dark green patina.

A copper alloy Colchester derivative, hinged brooch dating to the Roman period. The brooch is a hinged example with tubular wings measuring 27mm long. Each wing is decorated 4mm from the end with a vertical notch. The head of the brooch rises up from the wings and tapers downwards forming the bow of the object. The bow terminates with a worn and rounded break which probably occurred during antiquity.
At the rear of the wings is a notch where the hinged pin would have pivoted. The pin and the catch plate are missing. The object has a dark brown patina and is in fair condition.

A medieval silver annular brooch, formed of a decorated hoop, two flowers arranged symmetrically with the pin at the centre, and a constriction to hold the pin. There is some evidence of gilding still present and the hoop is also delicately engraved.

A fine annular brooch made from copper alloy. Four projecting collets alternate with four square panels. The collets are tall hollow-topped bosses, three of which contain a white paste adhesive which originally would have retained a stone or glass setting. The square panels each have a central boss and dot decoration around the edges. The pin is attached through a hole drilled in the frame of the brooch close to one of the collets.
