Incomplete cast copper alloy Bow and Fantail brooch, dating to the early Roman period. Only the triangular fantail remains. The front has a slightly stepped perimeter. The face is decorated with three pellet-in-rings. The rings and pellets are recessed and are likely to have contained enamel. The surface has been silvered. The catchplate is incomplete. Similar designs and plates are seen on the bottom of Hook Norton type brooches, however the thinness of this fragment suggests a Bow and Fantail (Trumpet variant).
