Roman copper alloy Hod Hill brooch fragment, 24mm long, 20mm wide and 4mm thick. The brooch is in poor condition with a brown patina and weighs 6.91grams. The object consists of the upper part of the bow. It begins with a circular sectioned shaft which sits above a sub rectangular plate. This has a narrower lower section which is set back slightly giving the fragment an S shaped section. There are traces of a possible raised band running down the centre of the upper half, but otherwsie the object appears plain.

The bow is oval in cross-section and has an incomplete catchplate on the reverse. There is a line of yellow enamel down the centre of the bow, with a small patch of blue enamel at the top.
