Fragment of a copper alloy Roman brooch, 24mm in length. The fragment consists of the catchplate and a portion of the bow, which is narrow, with an eliptical cross section 1.8mm thick. The bow is undecorated aside from a transverse ridge and knop at the foot. Circa 1st-2nd century AD.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy disc brooch dating from the Roman period. Length: 50.2mm; width (diameter): 39.7mm; depth: 10.2mm; mass: 16.9g. The brooch is sub-circular in plan, with an incomplete lug at the top and a moulded foot at the base. The front on the circular plate is flat with no decoration visible. On the reverse of the brooch, there is a double lug at the top with a copper alloy axial rod holding an incomplete copper alloy pin, and a complete catchplate with pin rest at the bottom. A copper alloy Roman dolphin brooch. This brooch has a hinge mechanism. Its wings (left one damaged) are decorated with transverse grooves at the ends. The head also has grooves on it, which run over the head and all the way down the bow to the grooves of the foot. There are three pairs of grooves (sides and middle) with transverse lines running the length between each pair. The brooch has a green patina and measures 59.1mm x 35.1mm x 18.6mm, weighing 29.81g. Incomplete cast copper alloy Polden Hill brooch. The brooch has short wings that are semi-cylindrical in cross-section and terminate with pierced end-plates. There is a copper alloy spring held in place via the two pierced plates and also a rearward hook in the centre coming off the top of the bow. The pin is missing. The bow is incomplete, D-shaped in cross-section and decorated with three ribs. The surface of the brooch has been silvered.

Roman copper alloy Hod Hill brooch fragment, 24mm long, 20mm wide and 4mm thick. The brooch is in poor condition with a brown patina and weighs 6.91grams. The object consists of the upper part of the bow. It begins with a circular sectioned shaft which sits above a sub rectangular plate. This has a narrower lower section which is set back slightly giving the fragment an S shaped section. There are traces of a possible raised band running down the centre of the upper half, but otherwsie the object appears plain.

Lower half of a copper alloy Headstud brooch, dating to the early Roman period. The brooch bow is D-shaped in cross-section and decorated with a row of lozenges down the centre in reserve metal, with a recessed panel to either side that once would have contained enamel. The terminal has four reels, with the lowest reel forming a flat foot. The catchplate is incomplete.
