An incomplete cast copper alloy medieval annular brooch. The flat circular frame is slightly bowed and misshapen. Around the frame are six tapering collets, two large ones and four smaller. The large collets are at opposite ends and have a set of two collets between them. Inside some of the collets are the remains of a white paste but none of the settings survive. Between two of the smaller collets is a circular pinhole for the missing pin, and at the opposite end the frame is slightly angled to act as a pin rest. A complete cast copper alloy medieval brooch. The annular frame has a pointed extension at one end to create a teardrop shape. The extension is decorated with a four-petal flower. The frame is divided into bands decorated with a fine net-like design alternating with plain. Looped around a constriction in the frame is a cast copper alloy pin, which has a transverse moulding. Traces of gilding survive on the front surface and the back is plain. The length is 32.8mm, the width is 25.1mm, the thickness is 2.7mm and the weight is 5.69g.

The object is a silver penny of the Short Cross coinage which has been converted into a brooch. The coin was originally a silver penny of Short Cross class 5bi, issued in 1205 under King John. The moneyer was Pieres operating at Durham: the reverse inscription +PIERES.ON.DVR is virtually complete. The coin would have been produced to the established standard of the English medieval coinage, over 90% fine silver. A cast copper alloy Medieval brooch. The brooch is in the form of an oval ring, on the ling sides of which are two bars which curves back towards the ring, on the ends of which are animal’s heads. These have broad noses and clearly marked ears and brow ridge. Between the ears are a series of longitudinal lines. On one of the narrow ends is a notch; opposite is a small hole, now broken through. A fragment of a Medieval ring brooch. The incomplete cast copper alloy pin is all that survives of the brooch. The attachment loop is truncated and the opposite end of the bar is missing. The bar has a D-shaped section and increased in thickness towards the loop and where it becomes keeled with notches. Beneath the bar is a pointed spur. The length is 36.4mm, the width is 6.0mm, the thickness is 12.8mm and the weight is 7.28g.

A circular Medieval brooch with a circular central aperture. The brooch is flat, with raised edges which form a border. On the front is an inscription which reads: AMOR VNICIT OMNA This is a misspelling of the Latin for 'Amor Vincit Omnia ('Love conquers all'). The beginning of the inscription is indicated by the positioning of the pin, which is attached to a recess in the frame by the agency of a loop. The brooch is silver and dates from the fourteenth century.

Silver ring brooch, now broken but substantially complete. The main section is 2.0mm in diameter expanding at four points to form 4.5m diameter beads.
