An incomplete hand made jet mourning brooch, of Victorian dating (c. AD 1880 - c. AD 1910). The brooch is oval in plan. The front exhibits carved decoration. In the centre is a plain upright oval. Surrounding this is a greek key design. The edge of the brooch consists of a twisted rope style border. The back is plain and consists of a copper alloy back plate. The pin is incomplete and consists of part of the hinge and a small amount of the catch plate.
