2008 T663 Post-Medieval silver artefact British Museum Report: Silver artefact, cast, baluster shaped, with two terminals. On the back remains of two projecting knops at either end, perhaps originally for a brooch fitting, now missing. On the back also a maker's mark perhaps GM and a hallmark resembling a lion passant. I am uncertain as to how to place this object. Its function or dating is unclear, but from the facture it would seem to me modern, almost certainly post 1709. Therefore, in all probability, this item is not Treasure as stipulated by the Treasure Act 19…

A silver object, possibly a fitting of some sort or brooch/buckle frame. The object is sub-circular and damaged, having been bent. The upper surface is decorated with small engraved waves within a thin strip border either side. The reverse undecorated and concave. It measures 1.35mm thick and weighs 1.5g. It has an approximate diameter of 26.87mm. Altough the object is silver, it is less than 300 years old, so does not qualify under the Treasure Act (1996)
